Zazi graduates magna cum laude

Zazi Odarkor Nylander, a former student and one time head girl of Ghana International School, Accra, recently passed out of the prestigious Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA with high flying colours.

At a recent ceremony, Zazi graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the celebrated and elite Phi Beta Kappa society, Zeta Chapter of North America.
Notable personalities connected to this exclusive club are all five recent US Presidents, all of whom have a Phi Beta Kappa connection.
George H. W. Bush became a member at Yale University in 1948, Bill Clinton at Georgetown University in 1968 and Jimmy Carter became an honorary member at Kansas State University in 1991.
The other two US Presidents, namely George W. Bush and Barack Obama, are sons of Phi Beta Kappa members.
President George W. Bush’s father if former President George H.W. Bush. Current US President Barack Obama’s father Barack Hussein Obama, Snr, became a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, in 1962.
Zazi also walked away with the college’s C. Pauline Burt prize which is awarded annually to a senior majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry and who has shown highest potential for further study in science.
