
He said those who would obtain aggregate six in the examination to enter senior high schools (SHSs) would receive financial assistance from the assembly. Mr Agbo-Tetteh gave the assurance when he toured examination centres in the district with the Presiding Member of the assembly, Mr David Walter Yao Mawulolo Hormenu, and the acting District Director of Education, Mr Augustus Nii Lante Cleland. The DCE was pleased with the arrangements at the various centres and commended the supervisors and the invigilators for a good work done. Speaking to the candidates, he stressed that the determination, dedication, commitment, zeal and seriousness they attached to the examination would go a long way to determine their future. Mr Agbo-Tetteh also advised the candidates to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations governing the examination. He pledged the assembly’s support to sponsor more students to SHS this year, provided they obtain the required aggregates. Earlier, the DCE, who is a professional teacher, had organised extra classes in Mathematics and Integrated Science for all BECE candidates in the district. In an interview, the Deputy Director of Education in the Lower Manya Krobo District, Mr Frank Dzamaklu, who supervised the BECE at the Akuse Centre, said the examination had been very successful, since the candidates comported themselves and adhered to the rules.
