He said despite the infrastructural problem facing AKROSEC, the school had made considerable academic progress, and commended the staff for the achievement. Mr Afram enjoined the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the school to continue to Support the government in providing adequate infrastructure for the institution 10 enhance teaching and learning. He advised the new Headmistress, Madam Ablata Mawufemor, to continue the good work initiated by Madam Appiah. For her part, Madam Appiah expressed her gratitude to the staff,' the PTA as well as the entire- Akroso community for their support during her tenure of office as the headmistress. She called on them and the students to continue to strive for excellence. Madam Appiah promised to do her best to raise the educational standards of her new school. In her address, the new headmistress urged the students to make the best use of the opportunities they had at their disposal. She said despite the numerous challenges, including a lack of decent classrooms, well equipped library, staff accommodation, school bus, and Home Economics; Visual Arts and Information Communication Technology (ICT) laboratories, the school had turned out many prominent individuals who occupied responsible positions in the country. Madam Mawufemor reminded the students that since no academic success could be achieved without discipline, they should strive to be law-abiding and set themselves achievable goals, which they must work diligently to attain.
