REPORTS TO: GROUP MANAGER

MAIN DUTIES

  • Coordinates, supervises and monitors daily activities of all staff and ensures that all operating data are properly recorded and documented.
  • Ensures that the system is operating properly and water flowing at all times in compliance with national prescribed guidelines and standards.
  • Submits monthly operating statistics and general correspondence to the system management teams and Regional Group Manager. 
  • Advises the system management teams on all technical and financial matters and also assists them to prepare periodic reports to the Regional Group Manager on community (ies) and district assembly.
  • Ensures that office records are properly completed and filed for easy retrieval.
  • Completes applications for private connections and forwards same to system management teams and Regional Group Manager.
  • Arranges for periodic repairs and maintenance of all aspects of the water system.
  • Prepares schedules for water quality testing and submits same to Regional Group Manager.

REPORTS TO: WATER SYSTEMS MANAGER

MAIN DUTIES

  • Checks all components of the water delivery systems (scheduled and ad hoc) and carries out routine preventive and repair maintenance.
  • Identifies faults beyond his remedy capacity and arranges for repairs after reporting to and receiving approval of Systems Manager.
  • Assists with periodic water quality tests and also prepares technical reports on assigned systems.
  • Carries out trouble shooting and correction of marginal electrical faults.
  • Carries out periodic lubrication and fuelling of equipment.
  • Advises on and assists with authorized private water connections.

REPORTS TO: WATER SYSTEMS MANAGER

MAIN DUTIES

  • Records properly all income and expenditure of the system management teams.
  • Receives daily sales and payment of bills from revenue collector, private subscribers and issues receipts.
  • Prepares payment vouchers for all expenditures.
  • Keeps and accounts for imprest.
  • Pays salaries of staff and for other contracted services as endorsed by Regional Group Manager.
  • Keeps proper financial/administrative records and prepares financial reports.
  • Prepares appropriate commissions for vendors as well as water bills for private subscribers.
  • Receives pay-in-slips from system Revenue Collectors.
  • Collects bank statements and reconciles same with books of the system management teams.
  • Undertakes billing of customers using the approved computerised software.

REPORTS TO: WATER SYSTEMS MANAGER

MAIN DUTIES

  • Reads meters and records data in meter reading book and submits same to Accountant.
  • Collects sales from water vendors.
  • Records total sales collected and hands over same to Accountant.
  • Pays cash collections and cheques to bank and submits pay-in slips to the Accountant.

REPORTS TO:  WATER SYSTEMS MANAGER

MAIN DUTIES

  • Carries out periodic community mobilization and sensitization including systems planning, design, construction and management.
  • Carries out periodic training/orientation of WSMTs and operational staff on their defined roles.
  • Spearheads and establishes a Learning Alliance Platform for all stakeholders in assigned zone.
  • Carries out hygiene promotion for water safety and related environmental protection.
  • Provides orientation on tariff setting and periodic reviews.
  • Ensures the formulation and enactment of bye-laws for the management and operations of the water system
  • Receives and addresses customer complaints and provides other customer relations services
  • Liaises with District and other relevant stakeholders on community mobilization issues
  • Supervises the activities of water vendors
